We enjoyed a departing breakfast with Danny's son this morning. It
was sad to leave family behind and get back to the hard work of pedaling.
Before we returned to our bikes, we stopped at the Kinko's center to
pick up the much-needed brochure. We use the brochure when folks come
up to the motor home or when we stop for lunch. When people come up and
see our shirts, we can share the brochure.
The
manager at the Kinko's center in Franklin is Phil Armenia. This facility
is very large and is staffed with an abundance of professional, friendly,
and knowledgeable technicians. When we arrived not only were all of our
supplies ready, but the price was fairly adjusted to support our cause
and effort. Thank you for caring and helping Danny's Ride.
Our legs have been hurting for the past couple of weeks and we really
needed a complete rest. It was very evident today that the rest made
a big difference as we climbed many steep hills. Danny says, "I
have gotten a lot stronger in the last several weeks. I have gained
about seven pounds and feel so much better. The only problem I have
had is
some numbness in my left hand. The doctor says that there is probably
some slight nerve damage that should clear up once the bike trek is
over.
Everyday we're talking to a radio, TV, or a newspaper about early detection
and screening of cancer. Many people see us on our bikes and ask us where
we are going, and that gives us an opportunity to talk to them. More
often than not, cancer has touched a loved one, and we are able to share
deep experiences from the heart.
Our team wants to thank everyone for all the support that we have had
on our trip."
