Saturday, May 13, 2000. We are in Nashville, TN. We did not
ride today, but we did arrive at WWSM/ WWTM studios at 6:30 A.M.
for a 40 minute interview for these radio stations. Then we flew
to WTVF, Channel 5 TV, the CBS affiliate, for a live interview
at 8:05 A.M. Danny did a great job!
In addition to these two Nashville stations, we have also reached
many people in via these 29 stations and newspapers.

The
very best of the best media that has supported, followed, and
without boundaries, helped us, has been the Charleston, SC's
CBS affiliate, WCSC. Some of their staff have made a lengthily
trip from Charleston to Nashville. Representatives included producer
and director Jim Demario, and Joe Gammer, the excellent and hard
working camera, edit, and creative eye.
Joe and Jim have come to Nashville to confirm that Danny, Charles,
and the rest of the crew are actually alive after 2,300 miles,
and that the bicycles are being ridden. Their inspection was
successful. Joe managed to find the steepest climb in Nashville,
and under the pretense of filming us, had them ride up this incline;
and we thought we would be off for a few days. Tomorrow we hope
to get Joe on a bike (on a slight climb) and have Danny shoot
some shots with the camera in the back of a pick up truck.
Also from Charleston
are Charles’s daughter, Anna, and his
sister’s son, Moshe. The Leonard’s have owned this trek. This
is the first time Charles has seen any family in 6 weeks.
Sunday, we visit
Danny’s son’s home for a BBQ rib feast, with
Charleston’s WCSC Channel 5’s staff - Jim, Joe, and other famous
people. More details will follow on Sunday.
