sleeve day.
Total trip distance: 2,259.9 Miles (since start on April 2,
2000)
We road a short distance this morning from Cadiz, KY to Hopkinson.
We were fortunate to have interviews there with the newspaper (Kentucky
New Era), the rock (WCVQ) and the Oldies (WQKS) radio stations. But
the real treat was the television station (WKAG). Brice Marsh interviewed
each of us then rode in the back of the station’s truck with the back
open, while a driver rode in front or behind. Mr. Marsh worked hard
and long asking us thought provoking questions. He worked just as hard
shooting
footage from the back of the truck or hanging out of the front window.
We all wish we could see his efforts when broadcast.
Our ride today was smooth. We reflected many times how far we have
come and how fortunate we have been to reach and touch so very many people.
We talked of many specific interactions with families and individuals
who have faced life and cancer. We have North and South Carolina ahead.
We have less than 650 miles, and we have so many more opportunities to
talk and listen.
After a 60 mile ride, like today, Danny would normally fall asleep
as soon as he hit the hotel. These naps are no longer needed. He is so
much stronger and charged-up by the interviews and talks with the public.
There was no audience in the desert. And Colorado was so spread out.
Now we are reaching the East where the population density is significantly
higher.
We
are excited to be in Tennessee. Tomorrow we will easily reach Nashville,
which is less than 40 miles from Springfield, the town we’re in
tonight. We are staying at the Best Western. Thanks so much to
Katie English,
the General Manager for complimenting us with a room. Danny promised
he would show her picture on the net, so here it is.
