We
did not ride Wednesday, we rested and played. We spent the day in Branson,
Mo. This was a spontaneous stop. We stayed at the Roadway Inn. They gave
us a complimentary a room. We saw an IMAX film about the Ozarks, and
we enjoyed a show. The four of us (Sean, Floyd, Charles, and Danny) saw
the Oak Ridge Boys. This is one of the best four singers on the stage.
The quartet entertained 2,000 fans and us for several hours. The show
was great!

In Branson, Charles found
a perfect "card" for his dear wife, Missee
( foxmissee@aol.com). They are blessed with four children - Saide-19
(foxiesadie@aol.com), Anna-17 (noombies@aol.com), Daniel-15 (bigd528@aol.com),
and Joseph-11 (jifnjelly@aol.com). These fine and growing young adults
have had a field day without their Dad. And Mom (Missee) has had enough,
so she has decided to lock down. The "card" says it all.
We left Branson on Thursday
and started at our yellow line. We paint a yellow line on the road
where we stop so we don’t miss an inch. Our
start was close to Sycamore, Mo. We arrived in Mountain View a little
after 5:00 P.M. We are staying at the Honeysuckle Inn.
This was one our fastest
days, ever. Our average speed was excellent. The bike’s computer calculates speed, distance, and time only after it
gets a reading from the tire’s revolution. If there is not a revolution
in six seconds it goes into a pause mode. So when we stop for nature,
for water, for lunch, or just to admire the landscape, it does not record
time.
Today we had four flats. Charles had a front go first,
then an hour latter a rear. Danny had a rear go between the time Charles
had his two. Danny also had another flat about 10 miles from our destination.
The hills did not seem to test us until the very last part of the day.
As we approached 60 miles, the legs started to go and burn. We climbed
most hills at over 13 mph. In the past, we were challenged to climb at
5-6 mph.
Tomorrow we hope to hold to 50 miles so we can recover.
The best to all.
